Rosa Louise McCauley Parks is a famous African American civil rights movement activist. She was famous because on the day of December 1, 1995 Rosa Parks was exhausted from work and she boarded a bus. The bus had two sections, the white section and colored section. She was sitting right behind the white section, but when a white man boarded the bus the white section were full. The bus driver then instructed four colored people who were sitting behind the white section (which included Rosa Park) to give up their seats for the man, but Rosa Parks refused and got arrested.
Rosa Parks was important because she caused colored people to boycott buses. This made a change to civil rights because after a few weeks buses didn't have any segregation. This was because buses were losing a lot of money since colored people are boycotting the buses. Many people think Rosa Parks was just a colored woman who got arrested because she refused to give up her seat, but that is not true because she changed segregation on buses which is very important. Rosa Parks is famous because she changed history.
I can apply this in my life because Rosa Parks taught us that if you know what your rights are, don't give up and I can refer this to my life by listening to things that actually have a good reason to obey. For example, if my teacher says to move to another table because this is another home room's table then I would obey that but if a guy said move out of this table because this for awesome kids only, I won't listen to that. I learned that anything you stand up for might actually make a difference in your life. Rosa Parks is important to my life cause without her and other civil rights activists, I won't have a friend like Donte'. I hope I can refer Rosa Parks everyday because she is special and can teach everyone something.
