This relates to the standard because I have to read an article on sharks and write a 5 paragraph summary on it. I had to complete a sheet on finding the central idea and the main topics. I also had to write everything paraphrased, so that it doesn't look I was lazy and just copied off from the SCOPE magazine.

What are the steps you took to complete and do well on this assignment?
I got prepared for the writing exam in Ms. Kim's class and I tried to make my practice essay as descriptive as I can to make my story vivid. I concentrated on the facts on the actual essay and tried to point it out as much as I can. I tried to make my story of the sharks informative as possible and tried to paraphrase the text as best as I could. I worked really hard in ELA and Science and used my time wisely. I even tried to write more than 5 sentences, but instead of improving it I had to complete the assignment first.
This assignment demonstrates the following strengths...
I can summarize what I read really well and I am great at paraphrasing texts. I am capable of reading a story about sharks. I can accomplish completing my essay on time and I can write so that my handwriting is eligible. I can also write a 5 paragraph essay about the text I read and point out the facts.
I could have improved on this assignment by...
I could have written more and pointed my facts out a little more. Despite that I could have made my writing more vivid and lively, I am proud that I got a 4 and that I had a few flaws. I am really proud of my grade and how I got a straight 4. I could have though write a few more sentences.
How will you apply the skills you learned from this assignment in either the real world when you are an adult or in other classes while you are still a student?
I can learn to paraphrase more in class and I can use Ms. Kim's techniques in studying for writing exams. I can also become a ELA professor and help them make their essays and writings vivid and descriptive. I can maybe even use my writing exam 3 to encourage me to do better on the fourth writing exam. I can learn from my mistakes and use my writing exam as a reflection. I can also learn that there is always room for improvement.
