I am located in Skamania County, Washington. I am in the United States in North America. The latitude and longitude are 46.1912 N, 122.1944 W. I am in the Pacific Ring of Fire.
Volcano Description
I am an active stratovolcano in Pacific Northwest region of the United States. I am a stratovolcano because my lava or magma flows and adds more rock to my sides to get me taller. I am white, black, and kind of brown and my elevation is 8.366’(2,550m). I have life surrounding me, but the life will die when I erupt again.
Eruption History
I recently erupted on July 10, 2008, but I am still active. My eruptions are very dangerous because when I erupt ash and pyroclastic flows come out of my vent. F.Y.I pyroclastic flow is fast moving currents of hot gas and rock.
Additional Information
My most chaotic eruption was on May 18, 1980 when I killed 57 people. I also destroyed 200 homes, 27 bridges, 15 miles(24 km) of railroads, and 185 miles(300 km) of highways. I have been around for about 40,000 years and I am still active even after erupting many times. I used to be a hill with snow and where fur hunters used to catch their animals.
